This exhibition is the expression of a personal desire by Timéa Tschannen to prove to herself that her art – previously practiced as a hobby – can not only be exhibited but also successfully sold. At its core is the portrayal of the naked female body, inspired by Timéa’s love for drawing women and her exploration of body dysmorphia.
A key moment in this journey was a week of deep self-reflection, where she stood naked in front of a mirror to better understand and accept her own body. This personal journey was inspired by YouTube videos in which women use self-portraiture as a form of therapy. Lacking the courage to take the first step alone, she asked a friend, who creates similar works, if they could collaborate on a project. This sparked the idea of incorporating photography into the project, leading to the collaboration with international portrait and fine-art photographer Christoph Marti.
The exhibition is a celebration of self-love, presenting the body not as a sexual object but as an art form. Timéa aims to continue working on projects in this field, remaining open to new ideas and visions that she can bring to life. The completion of the exhibition will also be a personal achievement – a testament to her ability to realize her visions.
